Men's Health
Week (MHW) 2006 ran from Monday 12th June until Sunday 18th June.
The theme for this year was "Males and Mental Well-Being".
The
Men's Health Forum in Ireland (MHFI) once again coordinated activity
on the island of Ireland, and ...
-
Organised
a major conference
titled "Mind
Your Self" - an all-Ireland event bringing together 120 organisations
and individuals who are concerned with the mental well-being of
men and boys.
-
Invited
a range of agencies throughout the island to plan, implement and
register health-focused
activities for men and boys and to promote these
on this website. Click here to view
some of the events/activities which took place.
-
Worked
in partnership with
BBC NI to highlight male
health concerns during this week. BBC NI produced a men's health
website
to ensure that information is readily available on the symptoms
of male health problems, how to stay healthy, where to find help
... This site also provides real stories from men who have had health
problems, talks candidly about 'embarrassing' male health issues,
and has a range of interactive health quizzes to test your knowledge.
-
Distributed
information
to men and boys which raised their awareness of male health
issues and the need for action. We also recommended the website
of our colleagues in the Men's
Health Forum England which provides a comprehensive range of
facts on men's health as well as a Portable Document Format (PDF)
version of the new Haynes Brain Manual.
